Death is something that is inevitable. However, I think it is very important to embrace death as a part of life. It is a difficult thing to do, but crucial, otherwise people live in a cautious way. Who wants to be laying on their death bed with all the "I should have.." "I wish I had..." and "What if I had done..."? Nobody. Personally, I want to be calm and at peace with my loved ones near by and reminising on the fabulous times we have all had. The annual picnic, the sister vacations, family dinners, trips around the world, watching children grow, falling in love over and over again with my husband... I want happy thoughts.
Another thought, none of us know when our time will end. It could be in twenty minutes or fifty years from now. I think that the Kuber-Ross theory is accurate however I think it might go on throughout the lifetime rather than towards the end. If people are curious enough they will think about how they want to pass or what the emotions are.
Nobody knows what will be going through our minds until it happens, however, I hope to live in a way that doesn't fear death, but embraces it when it chooses to come.
